opinions please
i bought a 92 camaro rs with a 305 tbi and a 700r4 tranny but the trany is starting to slip into 3rd and od which ive been told is usual so im curious is there a better tranny i can put in? i got told to put a 350 turbo tranny in it that those are real good.how hard would that swap be or evern to swap in a t5 manual trans how about those trannys and that swap?

If I was you I would just rebuilt the 700 r4 with a kit from probuilt. They have never failed me yet, and boy has it taken a beating. The nice thing about the 700 is the overdrive. I love it. I guess if I had a choice I would either stick with the 700 or if I had the bank and knowledge swap to a T56.

the t-5 is pretty easy. there are ALOT of posts and info on how to do it. 700 to rebuild is prob the cheapest route. even with performance parts it would be cheaper to rebuild and run than doing a th-350 or 400 swap. I.E. buing a trans, converter and the t/a relocation bracket kit.
I would like to do a t-56 swap but the money is just not there. that is a nice swap but you have to have the $$$$ for it.
