Idea for a performance and daily driver rear end

Okay, I've been doing some reading about locking differentials and I thought up something that might turn out to be a really cool idea. There are locking differentials that are activated by an electronic signal. A flick of a switch and it's locked. It is mainly used in 4x4 but here is my idea to make it work on the street.
The basic idea is this: Mercury switchs (parallel to axles) keep the diff locked when going in a straight line but when a quick turn is "felt" the diff opens up. Does anybody see a big problem other than the latency time between the actual lock/unlock and the time of sensing a turn? Please tell me if this have been tried before and where I can find more info, phone number and all that jazz would be apreciated.

I know that the AUDI A4 2.8 Quattro has both front and rear. So I guess it's not a new idea on cars but it still is something I'm curious about. Also that is all wheel drive, it's basically a 4x4 offroad system made for the road. I'm thinking rear wheel drive can use the same technology.

Sucks when no one replys huh lol? Seriously though why bother when you can just put in the Torsen differential. It basically does the same thing all by itself.

Aluminum radiator
No smog pump
gutted factor cleaner
cam ground to crane specs
timing advanced 9 degrees
no thermostat
other than that its bone stock and ran a 16.4 @ 82 mph with earth shattering wheel hop and a 2.88 60 ft time. (this was with the rebuild and cam only)

I guess but I think it would be cool to have a more tech kind of rear end. Everybody says KISS (keep it simple stupid) and I guess they're right. I would just like to see some benifits listed of having a setup like I listed.

The mercury in the switches is liquid, which means every little bump on the road will cause the switch to close. I dont think that would be a very viable system outthere in the real world...

Powertrax will unlock and lock by allowing one wheel to spin faster than the carrier while turning. Going straight it is completely locked(none of that limited slip stuff). It has the same effect that you are looking for and is excellent for a daily driver.
