When the car is cold it won't shift out of first until 3K and second is pretty late too. Third shifts hard but not quite as hard. I have to fan the gas a couple times go get it to shift into 4th and lock up.

Once you find out whats causing yours to do it could you =send me a e-mail I am having the same problem with first and second gear. third and fourth shift kinda easily. Have you done any work to the tranny lately ??? Cause I just put one in from a 2wd pick up and mine started doing it.

 

I had it rebuilt then the TV stuck and burned up the clutch packs and it was doing fine until it started getting cold. From what I've been reading on other sites it relates to a TV cable issue but I've checked, double checked, and triple checked the setting. I'm on the verge of just taking out a small loan and putting a T56 in.

 

it was air trapped behind the throttle valve

I worked the TV cable back and forth with the engine off and I heard air escaping like a long drawn out fart and now we're good to go again

now I got to figure out how the air got there

 

it might have got there when you had it rebuilt.
