Hey everybody.

I've got an '87 Camaro LT, and lately the transmission hasn't been shifting right. It usually happens at higher speeds, like I can't shift out of 2nd or 3rd gear, and also usually when I'm trying to go up a hill (so in other words, probably the worst time for it to not shift).

What happens is that it'll get going up to 35 or 40 or whatever and the engine will start making noises and sometimes get rather hot.

I know it's an old car, but it's not in terrible condition, and up until now it's been running fine.

As a sidenote, I am due for an oil change, could that have anything to do with this?
