I'm pretty sure that's a regular, but I don't know if it's out of a V-8 or V-6.

If it's 26 spline it's a V8.

Look at the front countergear bearing, which is a round thing in the front of the case about 2" in diameter. If it's flat and shiny, completely flat except with the edges sort of rolled-over looking like an upside-down freeze plug, it's the 1st design. If it's kind of a dull finish, with the edges sharp, and with a depression in the center that leaves what looks like a ridge about 3/16" wide all the way around, it's the "World Class" version.

Shifters are the same as far as fit. Stock ones all suck, the 6-cylinder ones suck even worse than the V8. In my 83 I got tired of hitting my knuckles on the corner of the dash above the radio after I'd had it for about 2 weeks. Throw that crap away and put a Hurst or something in it, you won't believe the difference.

From: pgh,pa,
according to my books, u have a non world class t-5 from a 1986 5.0 v8, and your trans has the .63 fifth gear so it should be nice on the highway.let me know if u need to know anything else.

RB is right about the shifter, my 89 has a hurst, and my 84 has the stock one... no comparison, the 89 feels way more precise and solid
