rear end

with the transmission in park and the rear of the car up on jack stands.. should i be able to move the tires?? yes or no???... cause they move, turning one by hand makes the other turn backwards???.... is this right?

Yes that is correct, with an open differential. The carrier doesn't move because the driveshaft is held tight by the transmission. The spider gears are doing the spinning.
