'98+ T56
Have any of you guys put a '98 or newer T56 in a third gen? I found a '99 to put in my Camaro but I don't want to change it all over to the LT1 stuff. Since the LS1 cranks are different,it looks like I could custom make an input shaft and make it work. I wanted to see if anyone else has tried this before I spend a lot of time and end up dissapointed. Thanks.

The '98-up T56 will not work in a third gen. The input shaft is longer than the '93-'97 and the bolt pattern that mounts to the bellhousing is different. An LS1 bellhousing will not bolt up to our cars. An LT1 bellhousing will. You need to find a '93-'97 (preferably '94-up due to their higher torque ratings) T56 and everything else that goes with it.
