Since you have a '94, it is equipped w/ a 4L60-E.

Your "modular" is the PCM wich also controls the engine functions as well. I highly doubt your computer took a poop getting stuck in the mud. These PCMs are usually pretty good.

As for the connection getting mud in it, I doubt it. You could disconnect the plug, and it will still pull foward in gear (although it would be in third w/ max line pressure).

When you say "drive" I am assuming that you mean "OverDrive". There is a difference. If it will not pull foward in "OD" but will in "D", "2", and "1", and reverse works, I would say the foward sprag is broken. The reason it will pull foward in "D" and lower is becuase of the Overrun clutches appying "overriding" the sprag. Then once you get up to speed, you can put it in "OD" and it will work because the actual 4th gear does not use the sprag unlike 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

I would get it fixed ASAP, because although it is now drivable, the overrun clutches consist of two clutches and two steels, wich is 1/3 of most other clutches. This means if you keep driving this way, they will eventually take a poop also and you will have nothing but reverse.

The sprag itself is cheap (if indeed this is what it is) but it will require removal of the tranny, and you may as well re-seal it (overhaul) and look for other worn out items.

If and when you do get it fixed, request a new Reaction Shell (aka Sun Shell) while its apart, you'll thank me later.
