stock 84 Z28 5-speed trans with a 300-330 hp 350 ?
Will the stock transmission work with a roughly 300-330 hp 350 ? Here are the engine specs 350 4-bolt main bored .20 over, forged crank, stock rods shot peened and Mahle hypereutectic pistons, all weighed and balanced by reputable machine shop, world products sportsman II heads with .202 intake/.194 exhaust, comp cams .502 in lift with 292 ? adv. duration, 1.4 roller rockers, comp hydraulic lifters , Moroso 7qt oil pan, hooker shorty headers, Vic Jr. high rise intake, Holley 750 double pumper. Car is an 1984 Z28 with unknown 5-speed and stock drivetrain. Any suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated.

Welcome to TGO. All depends on how you drive the car. If the car's a dd and you drive in a reasonable fashion, the trans will last--at least mine has. Should you hotrod it, go to the track, swap in slicks, etc., the grenade, so to speak, will explode sooner or later.

What are my options for another transmission ? TKO, T56, T-5 WC ? Basically something that that is strong, smooth, and reliable.
