WHICH ARE BETTER 9 BOLT OR 10 BOLT REAREND

I HAVE A 9 BOLT WITH 2'77 POSI I WANT TO CHANGE THE GEARS BUT MY MECHANIC SAYS THAT THE 9 BOLT REAR WIL BRAKE. HE SUGGESTED THAT I CHANGE IT TO A 10 BOLT WITH 3'42.

Search this forum, the 9-bolt vs 10-bolt discussion is all over. For the record, the 9-bolt is stronger than the 10-bolt, but since you have 2.77's, finding gears and a posi for it are tougher.
