Differential oil amount

I just wanted to know approximately how many quarts of 75W90 would be needed to refill the rear differential casing. I have a 1986 camaro TPI.

Just under 2 quarts. Don't forget the posi additive: put it in first, then fill it the rest of the way with grease.

I have never used grease I did not know it could help. well anyways it would take about 2 1/2 with the additive added to one of the bottles. I just changed mine.

Is the posi additive already mixed into the synthetic oil types?

no it is not already mixed but, like he said above use the gm additive they made it for what you have. not what some other company thinks you have

Not so fast, 88 350 tpi formula.

I know for a fact that you don't need the additive if you use AMSOIL Series 2000 75W90. Their older formula often doesn't need it, but just add it "if needed". Personally, I just started with the stuff I knew was complete as-is.

Can't speak for other synthetics.
