How do you get it in!?
OK, another silly question. Is there a diff fluid filler I need to get to fill my diff? The fill hole is on the side of the housing (I'm sure you know that already
) so I can't pour the fluid in. I wanted to just flip the car on it's side but the shop wouldn't let me...

They make a cheap (~$5) plastic pump that screws into a bottle of lube... very handy... Auto Zone has it, probably others too

Thanks guys. I was thinking something like one of those water bottle things with the tube sticking out the side but I'll check out auto zone as soon as I get back to San Diego.

Another possibility is a suction gun. Looks like the body of a grease gun, but instead of pump & handle, has a cap w/tube. Put tube in lube jug, pull back on rod until full, put tube into fill hole, push rod in; repeat until gear lube spills all over your arm and the garage floor.
Hummm, maybe that's why I've been using the aforementioned pump for the last 9 years...

On the gear lube I buy (Castrol, I think...), I slide an old piece of fuel hose over the pointed end of the container. Then I put the hose in the diff hole, invert the container, and squeeze the bottle. A pain in the butt, but less messy than the suction gun I tried once

when I use gm diff lub I make sure they give me the tube and adapter with it (its free) screws on the threads of the bottle and has a short 6" clear hose that you push over its end.
