200-R4 crossmember for '82 Camaro
200-R4 crossmember for '82 Camaro
Looking for correct way to hold up back of tranny in swap I just did. I eliminated the torque arm to the cat converter, did not seem to be doing much. Here is what I did...
I just put a 200-r4 into my 82 200c camaro, did a really shaky rear crossmember slide back using the two existing big holes in the body into a shortened up with a grinder old cross member, and bent rear axle torque arm mount and mounted rubber from it 'backwards' and bolted to crossmember, drove it back to seattle from lake tahoe yesterday. nice, have 2.73 rear end, but I like 1700 at 72 mph, works for me, 22mpg average. Cost $60 for tranny, $20 for fluid and filter, $15 to replace broken rear mount.
anyone know who makes the right stuff would be appreciated, although this works for now.
