I'm buying a used 10 bolt from a friend along with a set of 3.42s from Richmond. The problem is the rear end has a 3.08 posi and I don't want to spend another $400 to get a 3.23+ posi. So my question is, will using the 3.08 posi be that bad?

Will it even fit? Sounds like you have a 2 series carrier trying to hook up with 3 series gears.

He is buying 2 series 3.42's from richmond. It will work just fine. I've been using 3.73 2 series for a long time. The 2 series 3.42/3.73's are just thicker than the 3 series.
