What is the winding noise when I let off the gas in the rearend mean???

What is the winding noise when I let off the gas in the rearend mean???

Like in 2nd and 3rd,the whining is really annoying,its not loud just there,is something wrong????

Kinda hard to tell what is wrong. but service the rearend and see if there is any broken pices in the axle. It probably just needs some fluid. but a full service couldent hurt

Mine does that too... not a big deal really if you only hear the whine when you let OFF the gas and not when you are ON the gas.

i have heard richmond gears whine are any of you using richmond gears i see you have 3.73's in your rear...

My richmonds have always whined too. I was told most just do that. It isn't too bad, you get used to it.

While it is true that some sets of Richmond Gears whine, it is only the pro gear sets that are supposed to, or at least that's what someone at Richmond told me. The cause is most likely a setup that is a little off. The gear lash is most likely a bit off, the louder the whine the more the lash. If this has been going on for a while you will almost definitely need new gears not merely a new setup. This lash also will decrease gear life and likewise you will go through gears quicker.
