I may be wrong, but i have heard the LS1 trannies have a different input shaft then the LT1s

I think the gearbox is the same but everything in front of it will have to be off of an LT1 car. The input shaft and the clutch set-up is different.

man that sux, i can get an awesome deal on this trans too, i guess i will just have to wait until he finds me one from an LT1 car. if i did attempt it i would have to have an ls1 clutch setup right? are the lt1 and ls1 flywheels the same(probably not)?

Nope, the LS1 is a diaphram like our cars. The LT1 is the "pull" style. The t/o bearing is actually behind the pressure plate and pulls it toward the tranny.
