Please help,

have a 92 700-r4 with a B@M stage 2 shift kit
it shifts perfectly fine. Now i want to install a vette servo in to it BUT my GM
dealer thinks the small piston does not have
enough "holding power" on the clutches is this true The trans is stock except for the
kit above and is bolted to a L98 in a 92 GTA
with 3.23 gear
So i guess i'm asking will it hurt the 700
if i install the parts and will it make the
car unpleasant to drive at slow speeds?
also what about trans life with the above
mentioned parts?Thank you for your answer in advance, all replies welcome! GTA.....

The Vette servo has more holding power for second gear & will help the 2-3 shift also. It could make the 1-2 too firm. What size did you drill the 2nd feed hole? If the size is too large, the shift will be too firm at light throttle. I can tell you how to address this problem if it arises.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the quick reply!!
I'm not sure to the size of the second feed
hole that was drilled out. It was installed by a GM dealership following the B@M instructions provided, like I mentioned before so far so good. The seperator plate
had 3 holes made larger the top 2 were drilled at 1/8" and the lower one at 3/32"
I'm writing this as i'm looking at the instructions.Another small question why do so many people hate the B@M shift kit?? is it poor quality or what?? 2. I forgot to ask
do i buy the GM vette servo or the aftermarket one?? Just how hard would it shift if the wrong hole is too large??
Thanks GTA....

The B&M kits that I've seen usually block the accumulators and/or a .125 2nd gear feed hole, this combined with the Corvette servo can in many cases make 1-2 part throttle way too firm. By shrinking this hole down to .086 (with stock torque converter), .096 (10" non-lockup torque converter). There are other things that need to be done along with the hole size change. The Trans-Go HD Shift that I carry addresses this problem, along with many others. The kit sells for $39.00. If you have any questions call me at 800 7763288 Mon-Sat 10-6 PST. I will do my best to answer any questions you might have.
Glad too helps!

GTA- there is another solution to this also that probuilt didnt mention- there is an intermediate size servo availiable for the 700r4- it wouldnt be as harsh a shift as the vette servo, but would help you all around. i can gaurentee that the shift will not be o your liking.. the 1-2 shift with the vette servo and the shift kit will be neck breakin to say the least- talk to probuilt he is a good guy and knows his stuff!

Most if not all camaro/firebirds already have the intermediate size servo.

I think anyway. I never saw the small sized one in there yet anyway.
