Bellhousing

Is there a difference between a bellhousing for a manual transmission and an automatic transmission? Also, is a transmission out of an 87 trans am have a cable or electronic speedometer hookup? Thanks

GM automatics don't have a discrete bell housing (unlike some of the Brand F units). So you swap from an auto trans to a manual trans & BH, or vice-versa.

Don't know about the T/A speedo, I have a Camaro and that part is different between the 2 car lines.

I believe all Firebirds after 1986 and all Camaros after 1990 had electronic speedos.
