Clutch choice with nitrous

Hey guys. I will be needing to buy a clutch soon for my build for next year. I am installing a T56 trans. My new engine after break-in will be subject to 200HP shots of nitrous. The engine should be producing around 400HP. I plan to street drive the car with weekly or monthly trips to the local 1/8 mile track. I want a stiff pedal and am not too concerned about a "streetable feel".. although either of these conditions could change depending on the reliablity and strength of the clutches you guys tell me about.
I have heard that the McCleod twin plate clutch works great and holds up...

I am new to the performance clutch segment as I have always had an auto in my cars, and my trucks never needed anything other than a stock clutch replacement.

I would spend the money on a good CenterForce dual friction clutch and pressure plate combo. You should not have to replace it again AS LONG as it is broke in correctly.

For the T5, and I'm sure there's one for the T56, I suggest the Ram Powergrip HD. Make sure it's the HD version with the 8 puck disc. They're rated at 700 hp and I've never had mine slip. Top quality product. I use nitrous off the line with a 3.27 gear so you know it's getting a good test! I think I paid around $325 for the set. Clutch effort is a little stiffer than stock and sometimes it will chatter a bit on take off when slipped. Not bad though. I use it on my daily driver and go to the strip for test and tune and it's been a good setup so far.

Take a look at McLeod street twin, or their other street twin clutches

Re: Clutch choice with nitrous

i'm not running nitrous anymore but will be boosted. Plan on getting street twin by McLeod. Its lots of money but its proven to hold well. Fastest 6spds around run twin disk setups like this. After break in, everyone says it drives like stock so thats a bonus
I have seen Spec 3's work well with some 400-500whp cars tho, but not sure how the torque from nitrous would act on one.
