Question about auto trans removal

Hey guys I’m going to be removing my auto trans in the next few weeks to swap in a new one. How high do I need to get the car off the ground?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

High enough to get the tranny out from under it... I think I had mine about 1 1/2 feet up. I had to jack it a little in the front, then jack it a little in the back, front, back til it was high enough, but a good foot and a half. Once I got the tranny off the engine, I wiggled it off the jack onto a sheet of cardboard and was able to pull it out from under the car.

If you want to be able to take the tranny out from under the car while still on the jack, you have to get it mighty high. You're probably looking at close to two feet. That's pretty high for standard floor jacks and jack stands.
