Need help w/ Flywheel removal

I've tried loosening the flywheel bolts, but every time the Flywheel keeps turning. What do I need to keep this thing in one place so I can take the bolts off? And how tight would they be torqued in?

Smacking the wrench with a hammer is usually enough for me to break the bolts loose without the flywheel moving too much. Other times I have had to get someone else to hold a large screwdriver against the teeth of the flywheel and the edge of the tranny. (probably not too good on the flywheel teeth)

It won't hurt the flywheel teeth at all. There is a Lisle tool made to do that very thing. The shock your starter gives it each time you turn it over is much more severe than what you'll do loosening or tightening the flywheel bolts.

I just use a large flat-tip screwdriver. One hand on the breaker bar, the other on the screwdriver.
