New GEARS?

I was told If i wen with a lower gears then it would make me faster off the line. Sounds good. I was thinking about 3.73 would that be good for my 1989 Camaro? One more thing. How expensive would it be for these new gears? Could I put them in myself or should I have a shop do it?

3:73s should work good for street preformance. it's not too hard ot install gears, but it requires several specialized tools most people don't have. look in a manual to see how's it's done and the tools required.
gears=200
install kit=100
lube, posi aditive=20
labor=3 or 4 hours
