I have a 84 z-28. What I would like to know if anybody could help me with finding out what axle ratio I have and what axle type I have in my car Here is the axle code that I found on the axle housing.6HS C167 1. Could anybody tell me what year of camaro I can get an aluminum drive shaft .

 

any aluminum drive shaft you find will fit, long as it's from a f body. best way to find the type a nd ratio is to pull the cover and look. wouldn't hurt to change the gear oil and additive.

Do you have the manual trans? If so, it sounds like you've got the 3.73 with Eaton gov-lock. Got rear discs on it? That's the same axle I put into my '86 Firebird; except I got mine from an '84 Trans-am.

In Fact, now that I think about it, I think 6HS was the code on my axle!

Yes it is a manual transmission 5 speedand yes it has discs brakes.
