Rear ends

What was available in the back of 85-87 Irocs? The one i am looking at has Aluminum drums, if that means anything. I think its either an 85 or an 87 unless someone switched the hatch(no brake light outside)

Gear ratios available?
Were all Irocs posi ?
Did alum drums mean anything specific?

Thanks!

i think all irocs were 9 bolts with disk and posi 87 and later, 10 bolt before. easiest way to tell is look under it and count bolts.

A 10 bolt iroc those years could be anything from a 2.73 open to a 3.73 posi.
9 bolt could be a 3.27 to 3.45--In 86 only 50 were built(all 3.27's) and installed on the L98's.

FYI, you could get an 88 Iroc with open 2.73's, drums, TBI 305, and 15 inch wheels.
