700r4 shifting too early

i have a v6 engine..84 with a 70r4 tranny on it....just replaced the throttle valve (over drive) cable...and the overdrive is working great...but for some reason the transmission is now shift way to early..hitting 3rd at low RPM..and bogging to engine down nearly to a stall before coming back up....any idea of what could be causing this?

The TV cable is out of adjustment. You'll need to adjust the TV cable, since you said you have replaced it the settings have changed. Follow the manual on this if you have one.
Hope This Helps!!!

So the TV cable also controls OD, my OD has never worked since I got the car, and right now for some reason I can't seem to get it adjusted right, I have recently lost 2nd gear, it shifts late from first then into 2nd for maybe a second and then into 3rd.

Do this: A)Loosen the cable. B) Make sure the throttle blade goes full, bend brackets, whatever till it does. C) With throttle still full, press the D button and pull the cable back all of the way, as far back as you can and release the D button. D) Mark the cable for future reference.

You now have the cable and throttle set for true WOT AT WOT.
