i think this the right area to post, just a quick question, does anyone know if the 89 formulas came posi stock?

If it was a 350 TPI stock then yes. You should have a 3.27 Posi.

Like anything from GM, it was option or a required option but you ended up paying for it. Limited Slip RPO G80 was a option on any car and required with other options such as 350 TPI.
