tranny problems

ok. i have some tranny problems. i bought this Raptor TH350 4 months ago from www.transmissioncenter.net . and its got about 2000 miles on it.

now, heres whats going on. it just started about 1 week ago.. it slips ALOT in drive.. it does the same in manual 1st and 2nd.. but it doesnt slip in reverse. i give it gas and it dont want to go(well, it goes alittle). and when it shifts its like it goes in and out of 2nd. and if i put it in drive or reverse it takes along time to get in gear. and when i get above 1000 rpms i start to hear a wining noise coming from the tranny. i can hear the wining noise when i rev it in nuetral and when its in gear. this is a brand new tranny. what could be wrong. the only thing i could think of is the pump

and yes, it does have the right amount of fluid.

If it works fine in Reverse then you have a slipping forward clutch. The whine could be from a plugged filter, among other things. Next is why? If vacuum response isn't instantanious, this will happen. Let me explain. When you open a close the throttle, the amount of vacuum changes and that vacuum affects the madulator, which is what the tranny uses to determine how much load the tranny is under. This in turn creates a variable signal that the tranny uses to do two things. One is to delay shift points and the other is to raise pressure. If there is a restriction, usually from carbon build up but also can be from using the wrong vacuum source, the signal will be slow to respond, while the actual load will not. This will mean that until the pressure gets to where it should be, the tranny can and will slip. If bad enough it can burn out a tranny in no time. To check this, put a vac gauge, T'd into the line right at the modulator. When you step on the gas the gauge should move as if you have a string attached to it. If this is OK, then the tranny supplier needs to replace your trans. If it IS slow to respond then it is your fault and you need to buy another tranny after clearing up the restriction.

I agree with transfixleo on this one. The forward clutch is just about gone, and the whine is most likely from the front pump (possibly a restricted filter). You will need to to do the tests that he is recommending, to determine what (most likely) happened. These were common problems, but if did not address them, you had transmission problems.
Hope This Helps!!!
