Re: Monster Transmission

There are plenty of transmission rebuilders out there that can provide a well built tranny. Support some of the TGO vendors. Don't always believe what you see on those TV shows. They're paid to promote a product no matter if it's good or bad.

Re: Monster Transmission

Ha yeah I know you can't believe everything you see on tv. They offer stuff thats comparable to other vendors but at a lower cost. I was curious to see if the reduced price means that they cut corners on the products that they make.

Re: Monster Transmission

just dont buy one of their transmissions i hear nothing but horror stories from that company. I almost bought products from them but ended up going over to probuilt and called Dana and he hooked me up with a sweet performance rebuild kit thats fairly priced and included everything i wanted.

Re: Monster Transmission

Thats good to know. When I graduate from college in May I'm going to have to buy a new trans for my car. I've got plans to put a cam, heads, and intake on my car so I'm going to need a trans that can support the torque that I am going to make.

Re: Monster Transmission

the 1988 trans is pretty good. You could do just upgrades probably if it is still driving fine. suggest transgo 2-3 shift kit, boost valve for the pump .5 inch, and sonnax band servo-all can be done without removing the trans.-have a friend that has, or someone that has done these upgrades before help you out as it is pretty overwhelming.

I would if I could but right now I'm up at college in Plattsburgh and don't even have time to work on the project car I have up here at the shop. If he's in the Albany area I have a friend that is very good at rebuilding 700r4s that I'm sure would build one for the guy cheap enough.
