ok guys ive searched and i cant find this out i have a 92 rs camaro with a 305 tbi and 700r4 im swapping out my gears over winter for a posi unit and 3.73 gears which speedo gear do i need?

With 15 Tooth Drive Gear
Axle Ratio - Tire Height - Driven Gear Teeth

3.73 - 26 - 43
3.73 - 27 - 42
3.73 - 27 1/2 - 41
3.73 - 28 - 40
3.73 - 29 - 39
3.73 - 30 - 38
3.73 - 31 - 36

With 17 Tooth Drive Gear (your car should have this gear already in it)
Axle Ratio - Tire Height - Driven Gear Teeth

3.73 - 28 - 45
3.73 - 29 - 44

EDIT: You may not like 3.73s, I put 3.42s in my TBI/auto car, went to 3.23s, much better. But I do drive on the highway daily.

 

yeah i dont do much high way driving but if 3.73s are to high sprung i will drop down already thought about it just i got posi unit gear ring and pinion from a friend for dirt cheap. and my tires are 26.18 inches so 26 so i would get 43?

 

As long as you also get the 15 tooth drive gear to go along with the 43 tooth driven gear. Make sure you buy the gear for the VSS, and not for the mechanical setup.

ok im sorry for the punctuation.ok so i should have the 17 tooth gear in my car but i didnt see the rite set up cause i dont have 28 inch tires.

 

when i figureds mine out i got 49.09 for the driven teeth

 

You will need to buy the 15 tooth gear, and the 43 tooth gear

They don't make a 49 tooth gear, that's why you need to change both gears. They only go up to a 45 tooth gear

Not to bring up a dead post but similar issue 92 rs 91 350 tpi swapped in already did buffer bypass and all those issues....ok now for problem and setup...... 323 disk rear from 84 maro does any one know what tooth count I would need? 215 65 r15s 92 700r4 thank you any info greatly appreciated....can't get the car over 80 speedo pins and spark over advances thank you
