Why doesn't the VSS out of 700R4 work in T-56??
What is the big deal here? Is the diameter different for the 700R4 VSS than the T-56 VSS? It seems like it would be easier to make an adapter than to wire up a box that adjusts the pulses. Or is there something else going on here?

Thats a good question. I wanna know too, lets take it to the top.

If nobody knows the answer here than this is a problem. I'm not going to mess with a $90 box thingy with lots of wires if all I have to do to my stock VSS is get it mounted in the T-56 somehow.

Since it appears that your car has the VSS mounted in the transmission, as compared to having a cable, and the VSS being on the back of the speedo head, I think you should be able to use the T56 VSS. I'm not sure about the plug on it, so you may need to change it.
I could be wrong, so you may want to wait for someone else to verify it.

Yah, the two VSS's are different sizes, plus they put out different signals, so they're not compatible with each other.

Sorry, I was under the impression that they put out the same signal! Maybe I should look at the manual BEFORE answering questions.

Kevin
so if my stock VSS was the correct diamter as the T-56 VSS than I would be able to mount it into the transmission?
