shift kit

I have a shift kit in a 1988 GTA. It use to bark the tires on hard acceleration from first to second gear. Now it want bark the tires and it does not shift as hard. Has anyone had this problem.

Which shift kit do you have???

How long has it been in the transmission???

How long since your last rebuild???

What kind of transimission do you have???

I'm not sure what shift kit it has. It's an automatic in a 1988 Trans Am. I've had the car for about 8 months. It use to shift hard but now it doesn't.

You may not have a 'shift kit' at all. These cars tend to act as you describe from the factory. A true Shift Kit (TransGo) isn't about how hard it shifts, but instead is about fixing the causes of complaints and failures in a particular transmission.
