Re: Rear end swap help
Its not all that hard. It is mostly a direct swap. You will probably need the Disk brake E-brake bracket (piece up in the tranny tunnel) and you will need the disk/disk proportioning valve. Either that or get an adjustable proportioning valve. Thats what i installed instead of the factory prop valve.

Minus the e-brake which I dont have, all I would really need is a proportioning valve? If thats the case im picking that rear end up ASAP.

Re: Rear end swap help
I'm in the process with a posi rear out of an 84Z. One thing to consider is you might want to change those rear brakes cause they stink. 82-88 rear disk brakes are notoriously bad. Check out the brake board for the 89-92 PBR upgrade. The upgrade is around $800. I'm accepting donations.

800?!?! says who? You can pick up the calipers on ebay for 80ish. Backing plates are now being made by another board member for 140 or so. (forget which), and rotors are around 70 from napa. If the calipers need to be rebuilt then its 12 bucks a side. Pads are 30ish. Even if im missing something I dont get to 800.

Don't forget....ebrake cables & equalizer, hardlines + hoses (mine as well go with ss braided since your in there) & proportioning valve. Now this is based on the upgrade to the 89-92 rear system. Trust me, the 82-88 rear system is junk, they lock up all the time, I wouldn't invest in rebuilding it. Upgrade while it's off the car....it'll be much easier. Check the brake board or www.flynbye.com. Ed Miller has helped a ton of people with this. That's just my 2 cents.
