Borg Warner T56 HELP

i have a 83 camaro with a 355 roller motor in it. Ive got everything installed and it runs good with the new tranny. My only problem is how to convert the electronic signal to mechanical to fit my gauges that are in it. I like my gauges and don't want to replace them. They make converters but are they any good? Whats the best kind, or what should i do?

re: Borg Warner T56 HELP

I know you said you don't want to change the gauges but that is the cheapest way. I have the same dilemma. My 91 Camaro has the gear driven speedo rpo. I'm a little better off than you as I can find an electric odometer from another v8 or v6 car and swap it in. All I will need is the Dakota unit to sort out the signals. BTW its Borg Warner or it was, Tremec now makes the t56.

Re: Borg Warner T56 HELP

i've never really looked but usually a bouncin speedo is usually a worn out gear in the tranny but these are magnetic so like i said if it does it's at really low speeds under 15 i couldnt tell you till i took the car out but i have snow here stillso it'll be awhile
