what rearend and gears did the automatic ta have

Don't know about 87 but my 86 305 TPI TA has a posi rear with 2.73 gears. I would assume its the same for the 87

What's a camero?

The tech database here works for both Camaros and Firebirds. The HP data might not be the exact same, but the transmission and rear end data is the same. Camaros and Firebirds have the exact same transmissions and rear ends.

wrong the 1986 305 tpi trans am had the borg warner 9 bolt with the 2;77 go and read this tech on the front of this page and see what the 86 305 tpi has 10 BOLT HAHAHHA

I know two people with 87 Trans Ams, 305 TPI automatic. They have 2.73 aluminum drums.
