not third gen related but I really need help.

I have an 85 S10 with what I believe is the 700r4. Anyways yesterday i had to hit the passing gear and it went back into 4th but i stopped at a light and it would not downshift at all. Then it finally went into first at a light but it took a while to shift to 2nd. It wouldnt go over 10 mph and i had it floored but the rpms werent above 1500. I checked the fluid and its full. After it starts to act up I shut it off and let it sit for a while the it takes off perfect with no problems. Could this be a clogged screen? Sorry its off topic but no one seems to wanna help me on S10 forum. I need help guys.

hot no movement a lot of times is a bad torque converter. you need to verify it multiple times/ no reverse or forwards when hot(the torque converter doesn't discriminate).

It turns out it wasnt the tranny at all. I was checking the fluid and i smelled gas and I looked at the fuel pump and it was shooting gas all over the place. It just wasnt getting any gas to go. I put a new one in yesterday and I havent had a problem since. Thank god it was the fuel pump that wasnt in the tank. Im still gonna have it looked at by a tranny tec just to be safe. That explains my crappy gas milage.I cant believe It even ran with the fuel pump out. Good old Chevy's.
