tranny trouble when swapping from a 2.8 to a 305

I have a 1983 SC with a 2.8l v-6. I want to replace the motor with a 305. can i do this without replacing the THM 200 tranny i have.

No, it won't work. The 2.8L has a completely different bellhousing.

Help me if I'm wrong here guys, but you should be able to bolt a TH350 in there with no problems. I think if you take the tailhousing off the 200 and have it modified to fit a TH350, it will be a bolt in affair with the same driveshaft and everything.

not for sure but I think it'll work good this way.

Tail housing won't swap. Get the $75 torque arm mount kit from Summit or Jegs, or the really good stuff from Spohn.

One other minor difference is the shift indicator may not be correct with the 350 turbo. I did a similar swap several years ago, and that was one of the only side effects!
