Servo Questions???
Servo Questions???
I'm getting ready to rebuild my transmission and noticed that you guys talk about the Corvette Servo and a Super Servo.
I think I'm leaning toward the Corvette Servo, anyway during reading my ATSG service manual there is a procedure on checking the pin length on the servo. What are your experience on this pin length check and if I get a different servo would the pin length change or not?

The pin length shouldn't change from servo to servo.
You could check this by installing the servo without the return spring and seals, installing the cover and snap ring and then pull up on the cover to seat the snap ring out in the groove and zero a dial indicator, then push down on the cover as far as it will go. You want between .062" to .125" of clearence, going for the tighter end for performance. If your out of spec there's a right way and a wrong way to fix this.
Fitzall makes new pins, order the correct length...
or flip the 4th piston over (The last thing into the hole before you put the cover on) so the nub faces into the case and re-check. If it's too tight now, you could grind a little off the end of the pin.
Aim for .065" to .080"
