Rearend is going again!

I was driving to work this morning and I noticed the rear end starting to whine again. Last time i split the pinion in 6 places but I caught it before it came apart. It hasn't even been in there for a year and it is going again! I am not even hard on the car! I drive it but now that I am on my 3rd tranny in a year I baby it. No tire spinning!! I jump on it now and then but you have to HAHA. Well I have a rear I just took out of an S10...I should see what it is. What would you guys do? I might break down and by a new posi for it. The big problem is I don't know anywhere that I trust to put a set of gears in.

Just because the rear came out of an S10 don't mean squat... same design.

What's the difference between rebuilding yours or the S10's? Either way it's the same.

Gears are not too easy to setup so not just any slack jawed yokel can do it. You need to find a shop that only does gearcases, bearings, axles, etc... Perhaps a shop that does diesel mechanics could do it. Otherwise you may have to go accross the border into the US.

Trust me i know what you are talking about. There are nothing but slack jawed morons around here and parts are hard to come by. Last time I got it done the local tranny shop did it because I was an emergency. I am on the search right now for someone that knows how to load everything properly. I asked them if they knew the procedure and they sadi yes of coarse. I didn't beleive a work they said. I know they just stuck them in and didn't use the bluing to check the mesh.

Yes the S-10 rear is the right one and no I am not rebuilding the S-10 rear!!! I just want the gears out of it. I think I might as well find a posi carrier as well. If you break it you might as well make it a bt better.
