sloppy gear changes. Loud clicking sound!!!!

As i pulled out of the driveway, i saw my rpms flare when it wenrt to shift into second. It hung in second until i let off the gas and it switched gears ever so slowly. I had the tranny rebiult a short time ago, but went cheap on the converter. I was told the converter is bad, but would li9ke to get some ideas. That was three weeks ago, and i took it aroiund the block last night and it was sorta fine until it warmed up and it started doing it again. So i parked it emediatly. Any ideas?

What did you do about the converter? You shouldn't have put an old converter in a rebuilt trans, thats about the worst thing you could do, fluid flows through the converter and trans so it's all going to get contaminated, you might be looking at another rebuild on the tranny with a new converter this time. And a different shop to do it for you, a shop that would do that is incompetent.
