Go with the auto setup. For WOT racing it will act the same (as long as you aren't trying got short shift it). Manual ****ing an Auto isn't like driving a standard. It get's old quick.

As for suggestions, go conservative on hole sizes, primarily the 1-2 feed. I am doing a performance buildup for a '91 IROC right now and I used the smallest hole size. It will still give me a short shift but I am also looking for longevity. The Sun Shells like to break on these and the bang 1-2 shift will really help that. I always replace the Shell with a new GM one. As a matter of fact, on this one the Shell had a hairline crack in it so it is a good thing I am replacing it. Most people wouldn't have noticed it.

Check the accumulator pistons closely as they like to wear the hole in the center oblong. In fact you may want to just get new ones. Don't second guess the designer of the kit. If you really have a high power (racing) engine then go to a larger TV Boost Valve than specified but otherwise use what they say.
