New Trans rebuild, but ticking sound when cold..

OK, I just got my car back today.. It was fine when I picked it up, but after it sat outside the noise started..

I started the car & the noise wasn't there, but as soon as I put it in gear & applied the gas it started ticking.. If I put it into neutral, the noise goes away..

It made this noise for about 5 minutes, it seemed the harder I stepped on the gas the louder it got.. I put it into neutral & reved the engine a couple times, put it back into drive and the noise was gone..

Any suggestions? This was just rebuilt...

OK, I just ran my car again and found out that it still makes the ticking noise in neutral.. It's not as loud, and if the car is in park and rev the engine there is no noise..

The ticking lasts less than 5 min, but it is very loud when I start driving..

Need some advise on what this is..

My 84 did that all the time when it was a cold day out. I never found out what it was! I drove the car for 2 years and it is still going now so that makes it 4 yrs and running. I would love to know what it is.

Still looking for some suggestions on what to check.. Almost sounds a little like the valves are tapping, but the motor is a fresh rebuild.. It only does it when out of park, if I rev the engine in park there is no noise..

There is a technical service bulletin offered by GM for this. It has something to do with the valve body, maybe the Throttle valve?(T.V.)
