its been like this since i baught it in feb., and when i leave the gas moderatly punched, (usually when im showing off, racing, etc) the car has a tendancy to slip out of 3rd gear when it wants to **** to 4th. Now this is only when im racing, undern normal driving conditions their is no hint nor hair of that problem?? any ideas on how to fix it? really dont have the $$ to get a new tranny, what should i do?

I am not clear on what is happening. Are you giving it gas and it downshifts to second or does it neutral?

My '89 700R4 did the same thing for a year until it finally lost 3rd gear at 55mph o a highway. It needs a rebuild.

The 3-4 pack is wiped. This is pretty common. As for price it all depends on who you get to do it, their ability and knowledge and what extra hard parts you might need. I have seen guys charging @1900 for just the tranny but in most cases I would think you could have a quality job done (tranny fixed, not just parts replaced) for a lot less than that.
