I am in need of my second trans rebuild in 12 years, not too bad I can't complain. The first one cost me about $800, can anyone offer their experience of how much this should cost now-a-days? I want to make sure I don't get taken for a ride.

Prices and quality will range from @600-2000. A high price doesn't gauranty a quality job but a low price often prevents that possibility.

 

I got a complete rebuild with full manual valve body and high perf sprags, clutches, bands, etc. for $900.

'87 Bird 350 .060 over 700R4 + Lots more

 

I just talked to my local machine shop/engine/tranny guy - He is going to do my 700R4 w/ the upgraded parts (clutches, bands, ect.) and transgo kit for 850.00(me taking tranny to him). He knows what it will be used for and that I am using a vigilante TC and is still giving me a 12 month warranty.
