I have many 700R4's in the 11's & a few in the high 10's that are doing quite well. If you need parts and tech information, I can be of help. I carry everything that is needed to make one of these units hold up. Depending on what you are doing to the motor, and what rear end ratio you are using will determine the stall speed of the torque converter. The torque converter I would recommend is the Vigilante 9.5" lockup ($699.00) or the ACT 9.5" lockup ($545.00) both come with a one yaer warranty and a free stall change if desired. I agree with transfixleo on most of his recomendations, but there is more that can be done to make these units last. My specialty is the 700R4 & 2004R (building them and carrying the correct parts for them). I address the driveability complaints of a harsh 1-2 at part throttle, and the 2-3 WOT shift (having to let off the gas to achieve the shift). If you have any questions call me at 800 7763288 Mon-Sat 11-7 PST. I am working on a new website as I write this, and it should be done in the next few weeks. It will carry everything that is needed for the 700R4 , and will have a faq & tech section. My old site is still up & running www.pro-built.net it needs to many changes to save it, that is the for the new site. If I can be of help let me know, post it, email, or call.
Glad Too Help!!!

As far as a harsh 1-2 and 2-3 with the TransGo Reprogramming Kit I suggest not using the solid servo arrangement but instead use the servo setup from a TransGo Shift Kit. With this setup I don't have that problem.
