I was just wondering if any of you have heard of an automatic transmision waiting about 2 - 3 seconds before shifting into first gear. I asked the guys who rebuilt it and they said I had an air bubble in my trans and that there was nothing they could do about it.

I think they have an air bubble in their head. A number of things could cause this: Low oil level, sealing rings that were not changed or wear in the Stator Support (common) where the rings ride and corresponding wear on the sides of the input shaft, piston seal problems, clutch/overall clearance problems, pump/gasket problems, leaking forward accum ('87 up) or pipe. ETC. Just out of curiousity, people often ask how much should a rebuild cost. Could you tell up what this one cost?

Thanks. I got the transmission rebuilt by Level 10 here in New Jersey. The guy is a **** , but he is supposed to be one of the best. The rebuild cost me 1000 bucks.

This must be a different Level 10 than the one I hear people mention. The price sounds too low for someone with a reputation and the answer they gave you sounds like it came from someone in their first year doing this. Let me know if/how they take care of you (you did get a warranty with that right?)
