I've got a transmission problem and I need some help!
I have a 1991 Camaro RS with the 5.0L 305. I'm not sure what transmission is in it, but seeing as how it's never been replaced, it's whatever the stock transmission is. Anyway, I've been having some problems lately and from what I'm told, it might the clutch. When I push hard on the gas pedal, the car doesn't accelerate quickly. It will just rev high for a bit and then catch...however, even after it catches, it doesn't accelerate quickly at all. This only started happening about two weeks ago. Any ideas? Also, I'm trying to change the transmission fluid and I've never done it before...I'm not really sure how to drain/fill it. Also, what's the recommended fluid to be put back in it?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that! I have a manual 5 speed transmission. I just found the drain/fill plugs on the transmission. However, I am still having that same issue with accelerating.

Sounds like the clutch is worn out and slipping.. A stock replacement clutch will be fine for your motor/setup.
There's a T5 sticky post at the top of this forum, with lots of good info. The fluid should be a Dextron-III Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF).

Cool. Is that something is hard to do yourself? What tools equipment would I need? Also, I've drained the transmission fluid...but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to put new fluid into it. I've got the fill plug off, but how on earth to you angle the container/funnel so that fluid goes into it?

Clutch replacment is more involved than an oil change, but not as involved as a motor rebuild. I would give yourself a good 5 hours to replace the clutch.
Filling a T5 can be accomplished either by pumping fluid into the fill plug, or if i'm not mistaken you can remove the shifter and pour fluid in the top.
One a side note, do you actually have a .50BMG rifle? Barrett M82?
