At 110 I Hit The Wall! Help Question About The Governor.
HI THERE EVERYONE, FIRST OF ALL MY QUESTION IS. ON MY CAR WHEN I DROP IT TO 1ST THN 2ND THEN 3RD BUT AT 3RD GEAR NOT EVEN RED LINEING YET AT 110MPH, I HIT A BRICK WALL. WELL MY CAR STARTS TO PULL BACK OR SO IS THAT THE CAUSE OF THE GOVERNOR OR SOMETHING? THEN ILL SHIFT INTO 4TH AND STILL I CANT GO FASTER THAN 110MPH WHATS MY PROBLEM HERE? RPM'S DONT DROP OR SO.

Some cars had 115mph speed limiters in the stock ECMs. Most I've seen were 305TPI/T5 cars, but if you car had lower performance wheels/tires from the factory, they may have put the limiter on.

Speed limited by Factory, due to non-speed rated stock tires. If you improved your tire package a new Prom for the computer with the limiter removed will do the trick.

It also wont shift into 4th gear at WOT. The friction discs in overdrive on the 700r4 were not designed to take full throttle driving, so the trans is mechanically governed to prevent it from shifting into 4th.
