3:45 9 bolt
How much abuse can a 9 bolt handle?
What cars where equiped with a 3:70 9bolt?

83 berlinetta currently 350/350 3:42 gear,2500 stal,3inch exhaust,2 1/4

The 3.70 gears in a 9 bolt are only made by aftermarket companies like rieder racing. They never were made by the factory. 3.45's were the highest ones you can get. The 9 bolt can handle a lot. Well at least I've never had a problem with it with 400 HP. It is the stongest rear for the third gen cars except for the 25 firehawks made in 92 and the 6 in 91 which had the dana 44's

Recent information has come up that the 3.70 ratio was available in Trans Am in 85-86, the L69 cars with 5-speeds.
9-bolts are really strong. They can handle 11 second cars easily.
