Well, considering I have a v6, I thought it was open diff. I was driving a friend around last night, and he's thinking about buying it, and asked me to show him what it'll do, so I stopped the car, held the brake and started in first. The right tire broke loose, the car turned sideways, and then the left one broke loose, and straighted the car out, and I took off. Kinda made me think. So assuming that I was dreaming, I went back today, and sure enough there were not 1, but 2 black tire strips.....now I've heard that if I do have open, 2 stripes means that it's going out. Is this wrong?

Open diffs can spin both wheels if conditions are right. Sounds normal.
