Talk to this guy:
http://www.pro-built.net
He can build a 700R4 that will last. If you get a TH350 or TH400 you will miss the overdrive.

I've had a TCI in my car now for 25,000 miles. I don't really care for the 2-1 downshift at a coastdown in OD (Most 700's do this 'click' thing in 'D'
The shifts are nice IMO although I have some gripes about them:
1. They give you the wrong tailshaft so you need your original.
2. They give you the lame red 17 tooth speedo drive gear so you have to take the tailshaft off anyway to change it for higher gears.
3. The tailshaft seal was completely mutilated out of the box, good thing 1&2 meant I changed it anyway, check the front seal and linkage seals just to be sure (My brother got a TCI TF727 and it leaked like a seive out of the linkage.
4. The wiring for the TCC is different so you have to change the wiring around or use the vacuum switch (Not a good idea unless you like tcc cycling on and off all the time)
5. They are alot more expensive now than when I got mine.
